1. A basic introduction to PMP Certification
PMP refers to Project Management Professional Certification jointly established by China International Culture Exchange Foundation and PMI, Project Management Institute. It strictly evaluates whether the knowledge and skills of project management personnel are highly qualified.
So far, more than 190 countries and regions have set up PMP certification exam institutions.
It is currently the most valuable certificate in the field of project management. Acquiring PMP certificate can not only improve the project management level of project managers but reflect personal competence. It is a symbol of project managers.
2. The requirements for signing up for PMI PMP exam
First, candidates should have at least 35 hours experience of learning PMBOK or training in the PMP certification training institutions authorized by PMI. Candidates also need to acquire PDU to maintain the validity of the certificate through institutions.
Second, candidates with bachelor’s degrees or above should have at least 4500 hours experience of project management covering the five process groups. Besides, within 6 years since the date of application, the accumulated months of project management reach 36 months. Those without bachelor’s degrees or below should have at least 7500 hours experience of project management covering the five process groups. Besides, within 8 years since the date of application, the accumulated months of project management reach 60 months.

3. The time of taking PMP certification exam
PMP exam is held on March, June, September and December.
4. Other notifications
PMP exam requires registration twice.
1. English registration. You can sign up for the exam at any time to fill in your basic information, educational background, and the name of training institution. 35-hour training certificate is also needed. The auditing lasts for 5-7 days. Usually, the institution will help you to sign up for the exam in English like SPOTO.
2. You need to sign up for the exam in Chinese 65 days before the exam date. For example, if the exam date is June, 20th, 2021, the time for registration is between April 12 to 23. You are also required to fill in your basic information, the name of the company, address, and the exam site you choose. You also need to submit 616USD.
5. PMP exam question forms
The exam after June, 20th, 2021 consists of 180 questions including single-choice, multiple-choice, connect-the-dots, and graphical questions. The best exam result is 3A. It tests your understanding of personnel, process and business environment.
6. When to check the exam result
Generally, you can know the exam result 4-6 weeks after the exam. The exam result is not specific score. You can receive the email informing you whether you have passed the exam. If you have passed, you can download the electronic certificate. If not, you need to submit 395USD for the makeup exam.
7. How to obtain the paper certificate
You can get the paper certificate after 6-8 months. It will be sent to the institution by China International Culture Exchange Foundation and PMI from the United States.
